Capture a section of page Context

I only want a little bit! With a section of page context, you can be even more accurate in your communications and analysis.

Haven’t captured your page Context? Go to Capture a page Context
Follow the steps below to create a Context on part of the page.

1. Open up the EesyProducer and log into the relevant environment.

TIP! It’s a good idea to practice in your staging environment first.

2. In the Navigation Panel on the left, select the page on which you want to create a section Context.

Click once on the Screen Capture in the bottom right area to open the Context window.

3. Now, you can click on the section of the page for which you want to create a Context.
As you click on an area of the page, it is highlighted with the red box and the corresponding HTML element is highlighted in the Window Structure box in the top left of the window.

TIP! At this point, consider what you plan to do with this Context. For example, if you are creating a Hint message, which appears when the user hovers over a certain area, you may want to make the Context area larger to make sure the user triggers it.

4. In order to save your selected area as a Context, you must first set Recognition Rules.

Like Context Parameters for a page, these are identifying features or ‘attributes’ for items within a page.
In the bottom left area of the screen you will see the following:

The bracketed number next to Recognition Rules indicates the number of attributes available to set the conditions for which the Context will be valid.

INFO! To understand more about the HTML elements you may see in this area and which elements are best to use, please refer to our Guide to Recognition Rules and Context Parameters.

5. Select and right-click on Recognition Rules, then click on Add Recognition Rule.

It is important to assign Recognition Rules that are unique to the section of the page that you want to capture.

Here is a list of our top 5 attributes in order of uniqueness. Bear in mind, the section you have highlighted may not have all of these available.

6. Now, give your Recognition Rule a name.

Select and right-click on the Name: area in the bottom left section of the window and select Edit Name.

TIP! The name of your Recognition Rule will be the name of your Context so it’s important that you name it well.

Finally, click on Publish in the bottom right of the window to save your Context.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE NOW CREATED AND SAVED YOUR SECTION OF PAGE CONTEXT.

NOW, ITS TIME TO CREATE SOME CONTENT OR A MONITOR TO CONNECT TO IT.
